Podcast 2016 Episode 36 – EPIC (That’s a Technical Term)

Podcast logoHey remember that time a few days ago when Sarah and Dan started talking about all the Best of the Year categories that VeloVoices are going to be holding voting on this week, and it took them an hour to get through the first category? Well they’re back! And this time they’re determined to get through all of the other categories (including the two extra ones that Sarah made up so that she could fit everyone in that she wanted to) no matter how long it takes!

Look, we’re not gonna lie, this podcast is EPIC (that’s a technical term). It’s huge. It’s long enough to be a Hollywood blockbuster, but it’s got more plot, more drama and more action than your standard Hollywood blockbuster, so there’s that! How could it not be when we’re discussing Best Race Finish of the Year, Best Breakthrough Rider of the Year, Unsung Heroines of the Peloton for the Year, Unsung Heroes/Heroines Behind the Scenes and Step-Up Rider of the Year?

So many great and worthy nominees, so much to argue about! Make sure you’re stocked up on time and refreshments, this one’s perfect for that long drive to see all your extended family for the holidays. Here goes… (1:59:50 MIN / 109.72MB)

The Velofocus 2016 calendar – everyone needs at least one! With giveaway!

Sean Robinson started off his Velofocus site with the best women’s cycling race previews around, that were especially well known for the fact he mapped the races onto google himself, creating the race profiles that riders use if they want to avoid “surprise” hills!  He started going to races, taking photos, writing race reports and interviewing riders, and in 2015 he was pretty much full time at this, which makes me so happy.  You can see all his race galleries over on his site – and now you can buy his 2016 calendar, with 13 of his favourite images from the 2015 races.

The calendar costs GB £13.99, which by today’s conversions is approx €18.90, UK $21.25 and Aus $30, and it can be shipped all over the world, the shopping cart will work out prices for you.  And because I love this calendar so much, I’m doing a giveaway – if you want a free calendar from me, send me a tweet or leave me a comment with the hashtag #VelofocusCalendar and I’ll do a draw on Thursday 15th October and send one lucky winner a calendar of their own.

Podcast 2013 Episode 5 – Welcome to the Dark Side

This week we recap the Snowmageddon that was the Drenthe weekend. Sarah catches us up on some interesting developments in the world of marketing for women’s cycling. I teach Sarah about farming (including how to plant a chicken) and we swear a bit too. Early on I extol the virtues of the metric system and we take a look at the upcoming races this weekend.

You can stream the podcast here.
