Podcast 2017 Episode 31 – Being Italian IS a Tactic

This week we talk through the Junior and Elite Women’s Road Races from Bergen in Norway. There was all sorts of excitement in both races, and we talk through the highlights, the lowlights and the interesting moments that made the races. We also have a bit of a chat about riders to keep an eye on from the Junior racing, and of course we get a bit sidetracked, distracted and diverted some of the time too. (1:08:20 MIN / 62.57 MB)

Podcast 2017 Episode 2 – Race Coverage and Podium Presenters

Podcast logoThis week we catch up on all the Australian nationals results, the cyclocross nationals and the Women’s Tour Down Under along with a detailed and robust conversation about how hard it is (or isn’t) to provide race highlights. Sarah’s been suffering with a terrible lung infection and manages to only cough up parts of her internal organs, while keeping the entire episode actually within reasonable bounds. It’s the unicorn episode kid. (1:00:51 MIN / 57.06 MB)

Sarah is going to be giving two free talks next week – at the Roll for the Soul bike cafe in Bristol, on Thursday 26th January, and via link into BFF Bikes on Saturday 28th – click through those links and sign up!

Podcast 2016 Episode 36 – EPIC (That’s a Technical Term)

Podcast logoHey remember that time a few days ago when Sarah and Dan started talking about all the Best of the Year categories that VeloVoices are going to be holding voting on this week, and it took them an hour to get through the first category? Well they’re back! And this time they’re determined to get through all of the other categories (including the two extra ones that Sarah made up so that she could fit everyone in that she wanted to) no matter how long it takes!

Look, we’re not gonna lie, this podcast is EPIC (that’s a technical term). It’s huge. It’s long enough to be a Hollywood blockbuster, but it’s got more plot, more drama and more action than your standard Hollywood blockbuster, so there’s that! How could it not be when we’re discussing Best Race Finish of the Year, Best Breakthrough Rider of the Year, Unsung Heroines of the Peloton for the Year, Unsung Heroes/Heroines Behind the Scenes and Step-Up Rider of the Year?

So many great and worthy nominees, so much to argue about! Make sure you’re stocked up on time and refreshments, this one’s perfect for that long drive to see all your extended family for the holidays. Here goes… (1:59:50 MIN / 109.72MB)

Best race finish

There were so, so many fantastic racing moments this season, and it was especially exciting as we got more live racing, and long highlights, than ever before.  In chronological order…

Podcast 2016 Episode 33 – Sarah Is Not Allowed On Mountain Bikes

Podcast logoThis week we talk about all of the worlds time-trialling in Doha. The heat in Qatar showed up in full force and played havoc with the Team Time Trial. There was plenty of riders suffering from heatstroke and heat related stress which was deeply concerning. We also talk about how this impacted on the results. There’s the Junior and Elite women’s Individual Time Trials to discuss as well, with some interesting and surprising results there. Although fortunately with less dramatic heat. We catch up on the latest cyclocross and mountainbike news and round the episode out with a bit of gossip. (1:23:00 MIN / 75.99 MB)

Podcast 2016 Episode 2 – Sand in the Mic

Podcast logo

We’re back just in time to discuss all the racing and hour record attempts that have happened since last time we spoke. There’s cyclocross world championships (and controversies), there’s track action (tracktion? – bet nobody’s ever made that pun before) and there’s the beautiful windy deserts of Qatar!

This week it sounds a bit like the sands from Qatar were caught in Sarah’s mic, but we blame that squarely on something in the last skype update. Apologies for the sometimes dodgy audio quality, we did our best! (58:20 MIN / 54.32 MB)
