Videos and media from the 2017 Cyclocross World Championships

I still can’t get over the amazing women’s racing from the Bieles 2017 Cyclocross World Championships!  The U23 women’s race was incredible enough, and then the Elite Women’s was just completely spectacular – one of the very, very best races I’ve ever seen in any kind of cycling, women’s or men’s.  It had everything – riding skills, drama, surprises, and a worthy winner, on a fantastic course.  I’m still getting the hairs stand up on the back of my neck, thinking of it!

If you missed any of it, here’s my collection of videos, photos and other media.  There’s a lot of it!  I’m start with the Elite women, and then move onto the U23s.  As always, if you seen anything I’ve missed, tell me in the comments, or on twitter, and I’ll edit them in.

There are lots of fantastic videos on the Cyclocross Magazine YouTube and interviews with the Canadians, on the Canadian Cyclist YouTube, from before the races and after.

This week’s racing videos – Essen & Namur cyclocross, and Aussie track

So much racing, so much fun – and the next fortnight will be full of muddy winter CX excitement.  The weekend kicked off in Essen for the 5th round of the 2014/15 bpost bank trofee, the GP Rouwmoer.  Here’s the short Sporza highlights video – and there are the usual lovely photos on cyclephotos.co.uk.

Full results on the race website, more photos of all the Essen races, race report on Cyclingnews, and a race report with a few photos on CX Magazine’s site.

Then Sunday, and on of the most gorgeous courses in cyclocross, the Namur World Cup.  Oh, it’s beautiful, and oh it’s tough – all sharp climbs, steep descents and an off-camber section that’s just brutal.  Thanks to the UCI, we can watch the full race replay video – but I do caveat that the technical side was a bit wonky, so we don’t have any of the course noise, or atmosphere.  It may be geo-restricted in some countries – if it is for you, try Hola or Tunnelbear set to the UK and refresh (turn your tunnelbear off as soon as the stream’s running, to save your allocation).  Here’s the highlights video, with an interview with the winner, Kateřina Nash:

Videos – Mont-Sainte-Anne MTB World Cups and more

This weekend, as well as the Junior Track World Championships, it was the Monte-Sainte-Anne round of the 2013 Road World Cup, with cross country and downhill rounds, and lots of great video.

XCo World Cup

The Cross Country World Cup started with a track walk video from Canadian star, Emily Batty.  It was a gorgeous day and a beautiful course, with steep climbs and descents, and heavy rock section through the woods.

World and Olympic Champion Julie Bresset, was out solo early, attacking in the first lap.  She’s been injured this year, so it was great to see her there – but she was chased hard by Tanja Zakelj, Katerina Nash and Maja Wloszczowska – and was caught in the penultimate lap by World cup leader Zakelj….  then in the last lap, Nash and Wloszczowska caught them too, and it was all attacks and action on the climbs!

Here’s the full race video – with the explosive, exciting last lap starting at 1:27:42 – and here’s the highlights video:
