The MTB season has started, and Lourdes was action-filled, not just because of the amazing racing (and it WAS amazing), but also because of the truly epic weather, as they arrived in snow that cleared up over the first few days, and then the elite men were hit with an incredible storm to ride though during the finals, that left a surprise winner.
On the women’s side, despite the fact that the UCI have reduced the number of women eligible to race, the skill levels just keep going up and up and up, and it was a dramatic race – could Rachel Atherton keep up her unbeaten run of wins, or would this be the time a rival knocks her off her throne?
You can watch the full race replay on Red Bull TV, but that’s just the tip of the media iceberg. Scroll down for tons more videos, amazing photo galleries, interviews and more.
Highlights from the UCI, Red Bull Bike, Shimano and Vital MTB
The final big Downhill MTB race of 2016 was a huge one – the 2016 World Championships. And because this is MTB, we have a ton of videos, photos and excellent media for you. I’ll be editing in more as I see it, but wow, there’s a lot already, including the Junior women and the 2016 Four Cross Worlds.
It was a really tough course – very steep, very technical, full of deep dust, treacherous holes and Let’s start with the Full race replay on Red Bull TV.
Want to see that from Atherton’s perspective, on her GoPro? I know you do!
The last major Downhill of 2016! I’m so sad the season is over – but at least we can watch live. And if you, like me, missed the Four Cross World Champs, I’ve got video of that below.
It’s just MTB and 4X in Val di Sole, as the Cross Country was earlier in the summer – and I love Red Bull Bike, it’s live

The last MTB World Cups of 2016! So sad to see the season end, but Vallnord was a gorgeous place to finish in – and of course, we can watch the full replay and catch tons of media and videos. I’ll be editing more in as I see it, so leave me a comment or tell me on twitter if you find things I’ve missed.
All the results and standings from the 2016 MTB World Cup are on the UCI website – and I’ve also got some thoughts about the UCI highlights videos, and a bit of a rant about why they chose to promote DH as they do.
The full race replay is here on Red Bull TV; and highlights, a few photos, full results and Atherton’s winning run on the Red Bull Bike report; Highlights from Trek Factory Racing:
Photo-essay on Pinkbike; lots of photos on the Vallnord website.
The last MTB World Cup of 2016, and the Downhill and Cross Country riders come together for one final bash, before the DH World Champs next weekend. We’ve in the mountains of Andorra, in Vallnord, and of course, this being MTB, we can watch it live, AND have a ton of media beforehand. I’ll tell you how to watch first, and then check out the pre-race awesome, which I’ll be adding to every day before the races.
So, Vallnord. There’s all the programme information, course maps, startlists etc on the great race website, and the current World Cup standings on the UCI World Cup portal, and what you’re really interested in, the Downhill finals and XCo races will be streamed on Red Bull TV, although I should warn you, sometimes these are streamed on a delay, so keep off social media if you want the results to be a surprise until you’ve seen them! If you miss the races live you’ll be able to watch here after the races too.
To follow the races live on twitter, including the pre-race build up, check out the Vallnord and UCI MTB twitters, and the #UCIMTBWC and #VallnordWorldCup hashtags.
So, what’s gone on so far?
The MTB circus continues to Switzerland, and the Lenzerheide round of the MTB World Cup – both Downhill and Cross Country this week – and I’ve got videos, media and photos from the women’s races to share with you!
Let’s do it chronologically…

As always, there’s some great pre-race media from the Downhill…
I’ll edit more pre-race media in as I see it – and of course, I’ll put a post of race media after the weekend.
