This week we talk up a storm about all the racing that’s happened over the last week (and how it’s nice to get live video this week!). We catch up on Drenthe, Drentse8 and the ABSA Cape Epic. There’s another very open video from Wiggle High5 about their performance on the weekend. There’s been some really interesting articles come out that caught our attention as well – and as always we have heaps of links, videos, articles and more in the post below. Dan doesn’t actually pick a fight with anyone this week but we do invent a new board game. It’s a long one and it plumbs new depths of nerdery! (1:23:02 MIN / 76.02 MB)

Things we talked about
This Cylance team intro video is like some promo for an awesome TV show:
This week’s racing
Look, let’s just be honest about it all shall we? This week Dan’s up early and has to rush off to work, while Sarah’s up late at night and trying to get ready to head to the Tour of Norway. At the same time, there’s the Tour of Utah, a whole bunch of MTB racing and the Route de France to discuss. Will Sarah and Dan have enough time to cover everything? Well, yes, but you should still listen, there’s some really good jokes. (45:50 MIN / 44.01 MB)

This week’s news and things
Little Liv-Giant videos about Marianne Vos and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot
I’m down a rabbit-hole of MTB videos, and loving every moment!
First, it’s the Absa Cape Epic, the most crazy-beautiful-tough, and yes, EPIC! South African MTB stage race. There are tons of videos on the race Youtube, including this one of Kathrin Stirnemann descending, and these ones focusing on the women’s race from Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3 but my favourite video so far is this one on the Specialized Youtube, following Annika Langvad and Ariane Kleinhans as they talk about picking up a time penalty in Stage 2 and then fighting back in Stage 3.
In the Downhill world, the Athertons are training in Malaga, and there’s this gorgeous video on Red Bull Bike, with Rachel Atherton talking about helmetcam (my favourite thing) and tons of helmetcam shots. Love it! And if you want to see what they’ll be riding this year, Dirt MTB looks at the new 2015 GT Fury (love that colour, Rach!)
If Enduro’s more your thing, here’s a team video from the Commençal Vallnord Enduro Team, including Cécile Ravanel (I first saw this on Pinkbike)
Something else I saw on Pinkbike, and it’s so appropriate… first, a film following the building of a MAXX Fat Bike (guess the colour) and then this lovely film, including ice fishing, outdoor cooking, snow riding and a beer sponsor…. typical Bavarian life! It all looks like so much fun…. and this, people, is why I love MTB!
This week we’re not podcasting, but we’ve had all kinds of news and videos from women’s cycling in the last week or so – so here’s a random round-up, with videos, blogs, articles and all kinds of things I’ve liked in the last week in women’s cycling – road, crits, MTB, BMX, breakfast tacos, how to cool down a laptop and more!
This week’s racing
No video yet, but Emma Johansson won, for the second year in a row. She was racing with the Swedish National Team, but still has a race report on the ORICA-AIS website, and there’s a race report from Hitec too. Full results on the race website.
