Podcast 2017 Episode 23 – The Humblebrag Episode

Look, we do understand that not all weeks can be huge weeks of racing, but honestly this week was definitely a HUGE week of racing. We had stage racing at the BeNe Ladies Tour in the Netherlands and Belgium. We also had the Lotto Thuringen Ladies Tour in East Germany. With races suiting different types of riders and different types of racing there was no shortage of surprises and feats of phenomenal prowess to be impressed by. All of that before we get into the high mountains for the Col d’Izoard and La Course by Le Tour de France. We also quickly cover some Canadian racing and talk about a couple of other news items from the week. (1:03:46 MIN / 58.39 MB)

Podcast 2016 Episode 24 – Horrific Good

Podcast logo We’ve had a week off due to migraination and so there’s twice as much racing to get through. We take a romp through La Course, Thuringen Rundfahrt, Tour de Pologne and the BeNe Ladies Tour, all while discussing the finer points of multi-year growth plans and the overall development of the sport. Of course, this is all a precursor to the climactic Olympic Games racing that is just around the corner, but first we preview the Prudential Ride London Classique coming up on the weekend. So many things to discuss, it’s an epic episode! (1:07:23 MIN / 61.60 MB)

Podcast 2015 Episode 19 – Highs and Lows

Podcast logoHi team! There’s been heaps of racing to cover in the last week, so we recap the action in France, Belgium/Netherlands and Germany. It’s been a week of highs and lows with all sorts of interesting results. There are some pretty hectic diversions in this week’s episode (when are there not?) and a reasonable amount of speculation about what may happen on Sunday at La Course. Enjoy! Podcast episode 51 – Sarah Interviews Jolien D’hoore

It’s winter, so it’s track season – and Jolien D’hoore just won the omnium in the first round of the 2014/15 Track World Cup, demonstrating that 2014 wasn’t just her best year yet on the road as an elite.  The former Junior Road World Champion and current Belgian national road champion talked to me about why, how she combines cobbles and velodromes, her hopes for the future, and much more. Podcast 2014 – Episode 30 – The EEEE

Podcast logoHoly moly there’s a whole lot of racing to talk about this week! Hot on the heels of the Giro Rosa came Thüringen Rundfahrt, the Tour de Bretagne and new stage race the BeNe Ladies Tour. We cover all the stages in all the races and note several outstanding achievements, including Trixi Worrack and Evie Stevens racing Thüringen and the Giro Rosa back to back, stringing together 17 consecutive days of racing before they were done, and the results of several of the smaller teams in the peloton who definitely maximised their chances to shine. We also take a few moments to talk about #WomensCyclingWeek and (spoiler!) Sarah might have feelings about this one. But it’s all a lead in to the Commonwealth Games starting (which is kind of a big deal if you’re from a Commonwealth country, sort of like the Olympics because we can’t wait a whole 4 years to win more medals) and La Course by the Tour De France on Sunday (which is being televised live pretty much everywhere and therefore will be fucking amazing!). And after we talk about all of that, there’s the usual rundown of blogs, videos, tweets and various other odds and ends we saw. In other words, brace yourselves, this one’s big! All the racing video and results from the 2014 Thüringen Rundfahrt (which Loren Rowney and Lisa Brennauer previewed before it started), the Tour de Bretagne and the BeNe Ladies Tour (and there’s a lot!) in Sarah’s post on Podium Café.  We liked the WielerVideo interview with Evie Stevens on her personal Grand Tour, 17 consecutive days of racing
