2nd-5th March 2017
It’s a real shame that the 2017 Para-cycling Track World Championships was announced with only eight weeks’ notice, because it meant that a lot of important riders and teams just weren’t able to race – whether for budget or preparation reasons. It should have been a great move, actually having a Para Track Worlds (not something the UCI prioritises), and running it alongside the able-bodied Track World Cup could be a step towards integrating the Para and Able-bodied Track events, which is something a lot of people have been calling for, for a long time.
But now it’s here, it’s time to focus on the positives!
The racing is in the Los Angeles velodrome, which last weekend hosted the first Track World Cup in the USA for 10 years. The last session is going to have a livestream on the UCI website, on Sunday 5th March, at 1pm USA PDT (4pm EDT; 9pm UK GMT; 22:00 European CET; 8am Monday Australian AEST)
But how can we follow the racing until the livestream?
A huge weekend of racing, with so much action – and we’ve got video – highlights from the Junior and U23 women, the full race replay from the elite women, and lots more photos, backstage and more media.
SO MUCH DRAMA! in this race – it was just crazy, especially that fight for third. The full race replay is here on Red Bull TV, and we’ve also got race highlights from the UCI – and I love this video from behind the finish-line, showing what happens after a win!
Alright team, there’s been so much racing in the last week that not even Sarah could keep up with all of it! That doesn’t stop us from trying to tell you all about it, crack jokes and swear prolifically as we do so! Among other things, this week we cover the Boels Rental Ladies Tour, the Tour de l’Ardeche, MTB, BMX and more. Settle in and relax as we go round the world. (1:25:48 MIN / 82.38 MB)

Things we talked about this week
This week’s racing:
Videos, photos and links from the Boels Rental Ladies Tour
Videos, photos and links from the 2015 MTB & Trials World Championships:
Tour de l’Ardèche – there’s a couple of photos, and the results from each stage on the race site, and the Marv Barras reports from Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3, Stage 4 and Stage 5. Race report from Velocio-SRAM and Dan’s favourite tweet:
We’ve only found one video, but since it’s Valentina Scandolara’s GoPro as she attacks, we’ll take that, happily!
WOW that was amazing racing – with cycling legends made, and some really TOUGH courses.
There’s been so much great content from the 2015 Mountain bike and Trials World Championships, in Vallnord, Andorra already, and I’ve posted the women’s race action from Days 1-4 here (Trials Semi-finals and Cross Country Eliminator and Relay and u23 XCo videos, results and photos) but it didn’t stop there – here’s what I’ve found from the women’s junior and elite Downhill Finals, and the Elite Cross Country races… OMG! WOW! AMAZING!
First, the Vallnord highlights from each day:
Last week was jam packed with amazing women’s cycling, and in the Netherlands it was the last Dutch race of the year – four tough sprinty stages, and ITT and then the final stage all over the glorious Valkenburg hills… all with the Dutch weather making the racing hard, and the peloton making it even harder with 1000 attacks. I’ve got videos, photos, results and more, so read on…
First the whole-race highlights – but there’s LOTS more from each stage too
Videos! Stage 1 winner interview with Jolien D’hoore – and watch the finish sprint and podium with second-placed Lucy Garner.
I was going to make a mega-post, but really, there’s so much content coming out of the 2015 Mountain bike and Trials World Championships, in Vallnord, Andorra, that I’m going to have to split my post into (at least!) two. So this post covers Days 1 to 4, including the Cross Country MTB Eliminator and Relay finals, the Trials quarter- and semi-finals, and the Junior and u23 Cross Country finals. It’s been fantastic racing, and it’s not going to stop – here’s a reminder of how to watch the elite women’s and men’s Cross Country and Downhill Finals on 5th and 6th September, with the rest of the race schedule and how to follow everything else…
Here’s Claudio Caluori’s helmetcam preview of the course. They had an unfortunate power cut, so the full race replay video has a LONG period of nothing in it – the races start again after the gap at 1:37:15:
The finals start from 3:30:41 (watch here) or you can just watch the UCI women’s highlights & Vallnord’s Day 1 highlights, with some (men’s) Trials and the XCE
The 2015 MTB and Trials World Championships run from 1st- 6th September, in Vallnord, Andorra, and we can watch some of the MTB races live! Here’s the UCI trailer:
So, what can we watch, and how can we follow the rest of it?
