Podcast 2015 Episode 29 – Worlds Apart

Podcast logoG’day team, first of all, apologies for the delay in getting this episode out to you. We had major technical difficulties with our server during the week and it took a little while to fix. (For those who may be interested I’ll explain a little more at the bottom of the post). Anyway, we’re up and running now, and it’s a good thing too because what an amazing week of cycling last week was!

Richmond Virginia proved to be an excellent host for worlds and continuing on from last week’s time trials, this week brought us the Junior and Elite Women’s Road Races which proved to be incredibly exciting. We also discuss some controversy with Linda Villumsen and a recap of some other racing that happened in various disciplines. Enjoy! (1:10:15 MIN / 67.44 MB)

All the videos, photos and links from the:

Linda Villumsen caused a media stir by racing an unbranded Trek rather than her team Wilier in the ITT Worlds – Laura Weislo’s opinion piece on Cyclingnews.

Bonnie Ford’s piece in espn on the problems with USA Cycling’s junior women’s programme.

Why wasn’t Dani King racing Worlds? She told the Telegraph.

We loved this article by Marijn de Vries on how Lizzie Armitstead really won “like a girl”.

All Sarah’s other Richmond 2015 coverage, including rider Q&As, and giving new fans riders to cheer for, are under the tag.

Boring technical stuff that you probably don’t care about but Dan thought he’d explain anyway

So basically we’re needing to move our hosting because the server we’ve been on will no longer be available to us in the near future. Unfortunately there was an outage earlier in the week that precipitated this. Sarah and I are investigating options and think we’ve found a pretty good one and will begin migrating episodes soon. When we’ve done that we’ll go back and update all the links to episodes etc. so that everything can still be found. Thanks in advance for your patience while we sort this out.
