We couldn’t watch the 2013 TTT World Championships live, because the UCI decided not to include the stream (that journalists were watching in the press room) in the package of TV rights. BUT! We can watch some video, and look at photos! Here’s the UCI’s highlights
I really wish we could have seen more than those clips of the start and finish, because wow, Specialized-lululemon destroyed it! And I always said I thought the second half would suit Rabobank-Liv/Giant – they were 3rd at the first checkpoint, behind ORICA-AIS, but once they hit the city and the sharp, technical corners, they pulled out all the stops to win silver! Here are the Rabo’s after the race – with Annemiek van Vleuten, Lucinda Brand & Roxane Knetemann and Marianne Vos (in Dutch, of course!)
And here’s the ORICA post, with the DSs of the men’s and women’s races talking about their medals:
Here’s a mini video from Specialized with the Specialized-lulumon team being super-happy, and Carmen Small talking about how Specialized helped them win
And this might be geo-restricted to Australia, and I wish I could see this – video interview with Spec-lulu owner and manager Kristy Scrymgeour talking after the TTT.
Here’s a fun little video from the UCI, of three videos at the TTT – Noemi Cantele of BePink, who’s a very experienced rider, Nettie Edmondson of ORICA-AIS, racing road Worlds for the first time, and Boels-Dolmans‘ Adrie Visser, who retired after the TTT:
If you want photos, I LOVE these flickr sets from Wei Yuet – TTT practice and in the moments before the TTT started. Photos from CJ Farqharson on CJFoto and on her womenscycling.net race report; from Anton Vos on CorVos; Graham Watson on Cycling Weekly; a big gallery of the whole Champs on Yahoo Eurosport.
More videos – the geo-restricted half hour highlights package from Aussie tv SBS
Videofrom the organisers:
and from ORICA’s Loes Gunnewijk:
For some countries, you might be able to see the UCI’s full video replay – with half an hour of women’s highlights – but it’s pretty heavily geo-restricted.
Want to complain about the fact the UCI and the host broadcaster didn’t want us to watch the women’s footage?
Want to have your voice heard after the women’s TTT worlds wasn’t broadcast? Two emails: email@example.com; firstname.lastname@example.org
