How to follow Leogang – 4X World Champs and Downhill World Cup

This weekend it’s the final round of the 2013 Downhill World Cup – can Rachel Atherton keep the title?  They’re in Leogang, in Austria, where the weather’s getting wintery – and it’s not just the dh, it’s also the Four Cross World Champs.  Both will be shown live on Red Bull tv, and as always, there’s a whole ton of fantastic information, beautiful photos and fun videos to watch…

Four Cross World Championships 2013

Live on Saturday 21st September, 4:30pm UK/ 17:30 CESThere’s the link, and click through for a count-down in your timezone.  If you’ve never watched 4X, check out the 4X Pro Tour site, it’ll give you all kinds of fun.  Riders to watch include the Dutch 2012 World Champion Anneke Beerten, Brit Katy Curd, who won the 2013 4X Pro Tour, and Aussie Caroline Buchanan, who’s on a mission to race World Championships in three disciplines this year.  She won the World BMX Championships, came 5th in the Downhill MTB World Champs – what can she do here?

Downhill MTB World Cup

The final round of the 2013 World Cup is a course that seems pretty controversial.  Lots of man-made surfaces and safety additions – but the weather – and of course, the riders – will make it fun.

Here’s how you can find out about the course – Claudio Calouri’s excellent course preview video, on Red Bull Bike, the track-walk video from Dirt Magazine (I love Rach Atherton talking at the end!), and track-walk photo-essays from Dirt (with audio interviews with Manon Carpenter and with Casey Brown) and from Pinkbike (who really don’t like the course!).

It’ll be live on Sunday on Red Bull tv – the stream is here, 22nd September, 2:15pm UK/ 15:15 CEST (again, click through for the count-down to work out other time zones)

There’ll be the usual daily posts, photos and videos on Dirt, Pinkbike and Red Bull Bike – lots more information on Dirt’s preview, and on the Leogang competition website.
