Videos from the 2013 MTB World Championships
This week was the 2013 Mountain bike World Championships, in Pietermaritzburg in South Africa – and as anyone who follows MTB can imagine, there are a TON of videos around, including the entire coverage from the Eliminator, Cross Country and Downhill. Here are some videos and links to photos and reports… Hopefully there’ll be more highlights videos later, I’ll edit them in as I see them.
Last, but by no means least….
Mini highlights of the race from 43:50 on the Red Bull elite DH video
There are a couple of photos of Tahnée Seagrave winning the Junior women’s DH at the end of this Dirt photo gallery of DH riders’ bikes – with two audio interviews with her after the race here and here.
There are a TON of warm-up reports and videos on Dirt Magazine. I liked this gallery of DH riders’ bikes, with audio interviews about their bikes and the course – including these ones from Manon Carpenter, Rachel Atherton, Emmeline Ragot and Floriane Pugin. The Dirt videos from the Champs were mostly the guys, but they all have some women’s riding.
The entire women’s and men’s Downhill finals are archived on Red Bull tv. Sadly, this isn’t the usual great coverage – there are bigger gaps when the riders are off camera than usual, but that’s not Red Bull’s fault – and I did appreciate Rob Warner’s commentary even more than normal… but why would the host broadcasters not have cameras on the middle section with the big jumps? At least we got to see Rachel Atherton‘s winning run… and here’s a video of just that:
Here’s Rachel talking before the race:
Emmeline Ragot‘s run, what we got to see of it…
Update! Here’s a video from Lapierre Gravity Republic, including Ragot talking about her run and how she feels
Video from Dirt, mostly the guys, but with clips of Ragot and Atherton – and a little interview with Rachel talking about her race-day knicker dilemma, and how she wasn’t late to start!
Photo gallery on Dirt, with audio interviews from the big riders, including Manon Carpenter talking about her early crash into a photographer, Tracey Hannah talking about how it feels to come back from so many injuries into third place, Emmeline Ragot sounding disappointed but philosophical about her second place, and Rachel Atherton sounding completely happy about her win.
Photo-essay on Pinkbike, with some nice “backstage” portaits of riders.

Anything else I see, I’ll edit it into the post later – and as always, please do share anything you see with me in the comments, or on twitter
