Podcast 2013 Episode 6 – Polemica is delicious and tasty

The-Unofficial,-Unsanctioned-Women's-UCI-Cycling-ShowIt’s a feast of treats for you this week! First off we recap last week’s racing, making sure to check in on Emma Johansson breaking her streak of 3rd places, fortunately for her she did it by snagging a win. We also take stock of who’s been crashing (and I take over Sarah’s usual role of being the bastard in the podcast for a few minutes). We invent the best tasting cycling cocktail ever! We also discover that Sarah is a failure at pop culture, shocking I know. We also talk through some Exergy news and Sarah tells us about her favourite team launch event of all time. There’s a lot to cover so you’d best get listening now! (1:01:55 MIN / 59:45 MB)

You can stream this little cocktail of cycling goodness here.

Or you can load it up free-o-charge via the iTunes store over here.

And of course, here’s the big list of links and videos for the week:

Sarah’s latest Monday round-up of women’s cycling news and results on Total Women’s Cycling

Giorgia Bronzini of Wiggle Honda won the Classica Città di Padova:

Cholet-Pays de Loire:

The Exergy Tour for 2012 was cancelled, and teams aren’t surprised –  which might be to do with the fact that that prominent USA race organisers didn’t want anything to do with the race.  Someone who says she’s “Janet, spouse to the owner/CEO of Exergy” has replied to a comment of Sarah’s on Podium Café, where she puts her side of the Exergy story – you can click through and read it here.

Speaking of American races, the Amgen Tour of California have announced their women’s race.  Here’s Ant1 on it

Marianne Vos‘ tweet on Milan-San-Remo:

While watching #MSR I thought: oh, poor guys! Already nearly forgot that @rondevdrenthe last week was not much better twitter.com/E2gink/status/…

In rider recovery news, Sharon Laws is walking, according to Ash Moolman, but still in a lot of pain –  and Ina-Yoko Teutenberg is out for the Spring Classics

Sarah went to the launch of Matrix Fitness Racing Academy – and you can find all the different blogs and photos from the day on the team website

Don’t forget to log your cycling dreams on rêves per minute

On Sunday it’s the second round of the Road World Cup, the hilly and hard Trofeo Alfredo Binda.  Monty has a superb race preview on Podium Café, and there  are more race previews on Les Déesses de la Route and on Velofocus.  There will be an hour-long highlights programme on Sunday 24th March, 18:15-19:15 CET on RAI Sport 2.  And here’s this year’s race promo video:

We seem to mention Gracie Elvin‘s videos every week – here’s some on-bike footage from her training ride in Italy:
